Turning Points 6: Artists, Accessibility, and Exhibit Design

Featuring two artists, Finnegan Shannon and Carmen Papalia, the 6th installment of Turning Points will focus on accessibility in museum exhibition design. Finnegan Shannon is a multidisciplinary artist making work about disability and access. Carmen Papalia is an artist using organizing strategies and improvisation to address access to public space, the art institution, and visual culture. This conversation is moderated by Amanda Cachia, a curator, writer, and art historian working at the intersections of art history, curatorial practice, and critical disability studies. Dr. Cachia teaches at Otis College of Art and Design, California Institute of the Arts, California State University Long Beach, California State University San Marcos, and San Diego State University. She is the editor of Curating Access: Disability Art Activism and Creative Accommodation (Routledge, 2022).
